How do I add a birthday or anniversary?

Celebrations keeps the dates that matter: birthdays, wedding anniversaries, a new job, an award, good news. ViamOne reminds the family as each one comes up and helps you write a wish or make a card.
Birthdays for people in your vault come from their date of birth in People. If a date of birth is already there, the birthday is already in Celebrations.
Add a celebration
- Sign in at viamone.com and go to Home.
- Click + at the top and choose Add a celebration.
- Under What are we celebrating?, pick Birthday, Anniversary, Award, New job, Milestone or Other good news, then click Next.
- Pick the person from your family. For anyone else, choose Someone else, type their Name and pick how they're related to you. Click Next.
- Pick the date, add a note if you like, and click Save.
Add a celebration
- Open the ViamOne app and tap + on Home.
- Tap Celebrations, then tap + at the top right.
- Under What are we celebrating?, pick Birthday, Anniversary, Award, New job, Milestone or Other good news, then tap Next.
- Pick the person from your family. For anyone else, tap Someone else, type their Name and pick how they're related to you. Tap Next.
- Pick the date, add a note if you like, and tap Save.
You can also start from a person: in People, tap their name, then Celebrate.
How each kind works
- Birthday: for someone in your vault, the date is saved as their date of birth in People. For someone else, it stays in Celebrations and comes back every year.
- Anniversary: comes back every year. You can pick one or both partners.
- New job: turn on Repeat every year to keep it as a work anniversary.
- Award, Milestone and Other good news: a one-off on the day. For Other good news, say what happened. The wish and the card are built from it.
The relationship you pick for someone else shapes the wish, warm for a friend and more formal for a boss.
Security: Someone you add with Someone else stays in Celebrations only. They're never added to People or Emergency, and adding them gives them no way into your vault.
Reminders
For yearly dates, ViamOne sends a reminder a week before, the day before and on the day. For one-off good news, it reminds you on the day. Reminders go to everyone in the vault except viewers, and nobody is reminded about their own birthday.
Don't want reminders for a date? In the app, turn off Remind me when you add it, or open the date and tap Reminders on to switch them off. That only changes it for you; everyone else in the vault is still reminded.
See or remove a date
Open Celebrations. On the web, click + on Home and choose Celebrations; on the phone, tap + on Home, then Celebrations. The Coming up tab shows the year ahead.
To remove a date you added, click or tap the bin icon beside it. Only the person who added it, or an owner or admin, can remove it.
Didn't work?
A birthday isn't showing
For someone in your vault, the birthday comes from their date of birth. Add it on their card in People. See How do I add family members and dependents?.
I added a birthday but the date didn't change
If the person already has a date of birth in People, adding a birthday here doesn't change it. Correct it on their card in People.
There's no bin icon next to a birthday
Birthdays of people in your vault come from People, so they can't be removed here. You can only remove dates that were added in Celebrations.
I can't add a celebration
Viewers can see celebrations but can't add them. Ask the vault owner to change your role. See How do I invite someone to my vault, and what can they do?.
