How do I choose which notifications I get?
Updated 5 Oct 2026 · 3 min read
ViamOne tells you about the things that matter: reminders you set, documents about to expire, and what the family is doing in the vault. Everything lands in the notifications list in the app. You choose which kinds also come to your phone as a push, and whether you get email.
Push notifications come from the ViamOne app on your phone. The web can't send them, but you can change the same switches there.
Change your settings
- Sign in at viamone.com.
- Click Settings in the left menu, then the Notifications tab.
- Under Push notifications, check that it says On with your devices. If it says No phone registered, sign in to the app on your phone and allow notifications.
- Under Tell me about, turn each kind on or off.
- Under Email, turn Email alerts on or off.
- Open the ViamOne app and tap More.
- Under Workspace, tap Notifications.
- At the top, check it says Notifications are on. If not, tap Turn on, or Open Settings if you turned them off in your phone's settings.
- Under Tell me about, turn each kind on or off.
- Under Email, turn Email alerts on or off.
Changes save as soon as you flip a switch, and apply to your account on every device.
What each switch covers
- Reminders: the reminders you set on tasks and documents, plus celebration reminders.
- Expiry alerts: warnings before a document expires. See How do expiry and renewal alerts work?.
- Family activity: invites, someone viewing a page you shared, reviews, ownership changes, and nudges about tasks.
- Sunday note: one note a week on where the family stands and what's coming up.
- Documents: a document read and filed, a card or emergency note edited, a review done.
- Email alerts: expiry alert emails and a short email of open tasks that need attention.
Documents being read, and anything you do yourself, only show in the app.
Security: Whatever your switches say, ViamOne always emails you when your account is signed in on a new device, or when two-step sign-in is turned on or off.
Check that push works
On the phone's Notifications screen, tap Send a test notification. It checks that notifications can reach this phone. The line underneath tells you whether it was sent, or what's wrong.
Tip: If you use more than one phone, sign in to the app on each one and open this screen once. The status line shows how many devices are on.
See all your notifications
Click the bell at the top of the page. Click Mark all read or Clear all to tidy up, or the cross on one notification to dismiss it.
On Home, tap the red badge on your picture at the top, or press and hold your picture. You can also go to More › Notifications and tap All notifications under History. Use Unread, Expiring and Family to narrow the list.
Didn't work?
I turned a switch off but still see those notifications
The switches control what reaches your phone as a push. Everything still appears in the notifications list in the app, so nothing is lost.
My phone says "Allowed by the phone, but this device isn't registered yet"
Tap Send a test notification. It registers your phone first, then sends a test.
I'm not getting reminders on my phone
