What does each ViamOne plan include?
Updated 5 Oct 2026 · 4 min read
ViamOne has four plans. Every new vault starts on Basic, which is free. You only pay if your family needs more room, more people, or faster reading of scanned files.
The four plans
- Basic: free. Up to 50 documents and 2 vault members. Scanned files and PDFs are read overnight. Support portal.
- Essential: $10 a month. Up to 250 documents and 4 vault members. Scanned files and PDFs are read within 4 hours. Support portal.
- Pro: $20 a month. Up to 500 documents and 6 vault members. Scanned files and PDFs are read within 2 hours. Priority support.
- Unlimited: $40 a month. Up to 1,000 documents and 10 vault members. Scanned files and PDFs are read within the hour. Priority support.
Paying yearly gives you two months free: $100 a year for Essential, $200 for Pro and $400 for Unlimited. Choose Annual at the top of the plans list to see yearly prices.
What every plan has
On every plan, ViamOne reads your documents, files them into folders, finds expiry dates and reminds you before they pass. You can search your vault, ask questions about your documents, keep notes and tasks on Home, and set up Emergency access for your family. The plans differ in how many documents and people they hold and how soon scanned files are read, not in which of these you can use.
Security: Every plan, Basic included, has the same protection: two-step sign-in, private folders and emergency links that expire.
How the limits work
Documents. The limit counts the documents in your vault, set by the vault owner's plan. Documents in Trash don't count. When the vault is full, nothing more is added, however it arrives: an upload, a scan, an email to the vault, Google Drive or Dropbox, or a copy from another vault. The owner gets a notification and an email saying what wasn't added. Nothing already in your vault is touched. Delete some documents or upgrade, and anything waiting in Google Drive or Dropbox comes in on the next sync.
Storage. Basic has 250 MB, Essential 1 GB, Pro 2 GB and Unlimited 5 GB. That's plenty for the documents each plan holds; a scan or PDF is usually under 2 MB.
Vault members. These are people with their own sign-in to your vault. You, the owner, count as one. Invites you've sent but that haven't been accepted yet count too. Family members you add as dependents, without their own sign-in, don't use a seat.
Reading time. Text files, and documents you scan with the phone app, are often read as soon as they arrive. PDFs and photos of documents may wait for your plan's next reading time. Each waiting document shows when it will be read. See When will my document be read?.

Didn't work?
It says I've reached my document limit
Your vault is full for its plan. Delete documents you no longer need, or move up a plan. Documents in Trash don't count towards the limit. See How do I change or cancel my plan?.
I can't invite anyone else
You've used all the vault member seats on your plan. Pending invites count, so cancel any you no longer need, or upgrade. See How do I invite someone to my vault, and what can they do?.
Someone in my family can't upgrade the plan
Only the vault owner can change the plan. On the web, other members don't see the Billing tab. On the phone, they see "Only your vault owner can change the plan." Ask the owner to make the change.
