How do I find a document?

You don't need to remember what a file was called. ViamOne's search understands everyday words: a person's name, the kind of document, and words like "expired" or "latest". Type what you'd say out loud, such as Emma birth certificate or expired insurance.
Search
- Sign in at viamone.com.
- Click the search box at the top of the page. It says Search documents, people, tags…
- Type what you're looking for and press Enter.
The results open in Files. Next to your search, a short Read as line shows how ViamOne understood it, for example Emma · birth certificate. Click the search chip's cross to clear it.
Narrow the list
Use the chips above the list: Type, People, Modified and Folder. Sort on the right orders by Modified, Name or Size. Click Clear to remove all filters.
Search
- Open the ViamOne app and tap Vault.
- On Files, pull the list down to show the Search vault box.
- Type what you're looking for, then tap Search on the keyboard. You can also tap the microphone and say it.
Results appear as you type. When you tap Search, ViamOne reads the whole sentence. If you ask for one thing, such as show me my passport, and there's only one match, it opens straight away.
Narrow the list
Use the chips under the search box: Type, People, Time and Folder. Tap Clear to remove them all.
Things you can type
- A name: Emma, dad's driver's license
- A type of document: passport, prescription
- How it stands: expired insurance, my latest passport
- When it was added: bills from last month, 2024
Tip: On the web, press ⌘K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows from any page, type part of a document's name and press Enter to open it.

Security: Search only shows what you're allowed to see. Files in someone else's private folder never appear in your results.
Didn't work?
A document I just added doesn't show up in search
Search only finds documents ViamOne has already read. Until then, clear your search and you'll find it near the top of Files, with a label such as Queued, Processing or the time it will be read. See Why is my document stuck or not read?.
Nothing matches my search
Try a shorter word, or just the person's first name. Check that no filter chips are still switched on, and clear them if they are.
I can't find a file I put in a private folder
Files in a private folder don't appear in Files or in search. Open the folder to find them. See What is the private folder?.
I think I deleted it
Look in Trash. On the web it's under Vault in the left menu; on the phone, tap More, then Trash. See How do I delete or restore a document?.
