I can't sign in. What do I do?

Updated 5 Oct 2026 · 3 min read

Most sign-in problems come down to one of a few things: the password, an email address that hasn't been confirmed yet, or the two-step code. Work through the one that matches what you see.

First, check the basics. Use the same email address you signed up with, and check that your phone or computer is online. If the app says Couldn't reach ViamOne. Check your connection and try again., the problem is the connection, not your account.

Reset a forgotten password

  1. Go to viamone.com and click Sign in.
  2. Click Forgot password? above the password box.
  3. Enter your Email address and click Send reset link.
  4. Open the email from ViamOne called "Reset your ViamOne password" and click the link.
  5. On Set new password, enter your New password and Confirm new password, then click Update password.
  6. You'll see Password updated! Sign in with your new password.

Your new password needs at least 10 characters, and ViamOne won't accept one that has appeared in a known data breach.

Note: Resetting your password signs you out everywhere else, so anyone using your old password is signed out too.

"Verify your email"

If you see Verify your email (web) or "Your email isn't verified yet" (phone), you haven't clicked the link ViamOne sent when you signed up.

  1. Click or tap Resend verification email.
  2. Open the new email from ViamOne and click the link.
  3. Sign in again.

The two-step code doesn't work

After your password, ViamOne asks for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.

  • Codes change every 30 seconds. Type the newest one for ViamOne.
  • If codes keep failing, set your phone's date and time to update automatically.
  • Lost your phone? On the web, click Use a backup code instead on the Two-factor verification page and enter one of the backup codes you saved. The phone app doesn't take backup codes, so use the web.

Once you're in, you can set up your authenticator again. See How do I turn on two-step sign-in?.

Security: ViamOne never asks for your password or a two-step code by email, phone or message. Type them only on viamone.com or in the ViamOne app.

You signed up with Google

The Continue with Google button is on the web only. The phone app signs in with email and password.

To use the app, give your account a password: on the web, click Forgot password?, enter your Google email address and follow the link to set one. Then sign in to the app with that email and password.

Didn't work?

The reset email never arrived

Check your spam or junk folder. Make sure you typed the email you signed up with. ViamOne only sends the link if an account exists for that address.

The link says it has expired or is invalid

Reset links only work for a limited time. Request a new one with Forgot password? and use the newest email.

I lost my phone and my backup codes

If you're still signed in somewhere, such as the app on a tablet or the web on your computer, go to Security there, choose Disable 2FA and enter your password. Then set it up again on your new phone.

I'm signed out of the app every so often

ViamOne signs you out after a while without use, to protect your vault. Just sign in again. Resetting your password on another device also signs you out here.
